Linking ICD-10 codes to patients, invoices and documents

Bookem offers a convenient feature that automates the inclusion of ICD-10 codes on both invoices and documents. By linking codes directly from a patient’s profile, Bookem ensures that the correct information is always used where needed.

How to add ICD-10 codes to a patient's profile

To begin, you’ll need to make sure the ICD-10 code field is available in client profiles. If it hasn’t been added yet, follow the steps below:

Add the ICD-10 code field

  • Go to Clients > Profile fields

  • Click the Add field button at the bottom of the page, or click the + sign between the existing fields

  • Choose the field type called Tags

  • Rename the label to ICD-10 code

  • Set the List source to Data list

  • From the drop - down menu, select ICD-10 Code Data List

This will create a dedicated field on each patient’s profile where ICD-10 codes can be entered.

Add codes to a patient’s profile

  • Open the relevant patient profile in Clients

  • Find the ICD-10 code field

  • Add the appropriate ICD-10 code(s)

You can enter multiple codes if needed. These tags are searchable and selectable from the standard ICD-10 Code Data List.

How it works in invoices and documents

Once ICD-10 codes are linked to a patient profile, Bookem will automatically include them when generating invoices and documents that use patient data. This ensures accurate and consistent documentation for medical billing, reporting, and correspondence.
