How to take notes in Bookem

Bookem Documents allows you to create and send professional and medical notes. This is the primary way to take notes in Bookem (please note this replaces the older 'Notes' feature).

Create notes in documents

You can start with a blank document or choose a pre-made template from our template library. Templates can save you time and ensure consistency.

Enhance your notes

  • Add various fields: For detailed records, use document templates with field types like checkboxes, drop-down menus, and body charts. You can also use tables to track things like blood results, weight, and milestones.

  • Add attachments: Include relevant files.

  • Add images and videos: Visual aids can be very helpful.

Add audio

  • Voice notes: Attach saved audio files to your documents. You can record directly into the document using the round recording icon or attach an existing audio file.

  • Voice transcriptions: Click the microphone icon (it turns red when active). Speak into your device's microphone, and your speech will be transcribed into text.

Use variables to save time

  • Variables automatically pull dynamic client data from their profile into your documents, streamlining your workflow.

  • Just type `#` followed by the variable name. For example, `#First name and #Last name` in a template will automatically insert the client's name.

To make sure client or team member data appears correctly using variables in document templates, follow these steps:

Client data:

  • The client's data (e.g., ID number) must be entered into a form field that can be submitted, such as a patient particulars form.

  • The client's profile must have a matching field.

  • The form field and profile field must be linked.

  • The correct `#variable` must be inserted into the document template.

Team member data: Similarly, ensure the team member's data (e.g., practice number) is correctly set up in their profile.
