How to use AI prompt usage tags

Usage tags control where your prompts appear in AI Assist. Every prompt requires at least one usage tag.

There are two tags to choose from:

  • AI Assist - makes the prompt available in the AI Assist tab for asking questions and retrieving insights
  • Document creation - makes the prompt available to insert when generating output within a document, using AI scribe

How to add a usage tag to an AI prompt

Follow these steps:
  1. Go to Settings > Prompts
  2. Select an existing saved prompt, or click "+ New Prompt" to create a new one
  3. Under Usage tags, select AI Assist, Document creation, or both
  4. Save your changes

AI Assist usage tag

When you tag a prompt with AI Assist, it appears as a selectable option in the AI Assist tab. You can run it to ask questions or retrieve information about a patient, and review the output before acting on it.

Common uses include:

  • Checking patient details (for example, which medications a patient is currently taking)
  • Drafting a communication (for example, an email to a patient about their results and next steps)
  • Running a quick summary or check before or after a consultation

Document usage tag

When you tag a prompt with Document creation, it becomes available when generating content within documents. Simply select the prompt from the list to run it to produce content directly in a document.

Common uses include:

  • Generating a clinical note or report section
  • Drafting a referral letter or patient summary

Remember: You remain responsible for reviewing all AI-generated output before using it clinically. Review all generated content carefully before saving or sending any document.
