Unconfirmed booking reservation duration settings

An unconfirmed booking reservation in Bookem refers to situations where a booking is still pending and has not yet been confirmed by either payment or manual approval. 

First, the basic terminology

  • Unconfirmed booking status: Unconfirmed bookings are labeled as: "pencilled in," "awaiting payment," or "booking requested" 

  • Unconfirmed reservation duration: The hold time or reservation time  for an unconfirmed booking. After this period, unconfirmed slots become available to others. 

  • Client notifications for unconfirmed booking: Automate messages to inform clients their booking is provisional until explicitly confirmed.-For pencilled in bookings-Requested bookings-Payment pending bookings

Here’s how to edit the reservation period for unconfirmed bookings

Follow these steps:

1. Go to Settings > General Preferences

2. Scroll down to ‘General bookings’

3. Under ‘Unconfirmed booking reservation duration’ set the reservation duration

Note: Unconfirmed bookings will remain visible on your calendar and prevent anyone else from booking that slot. Regularly review pending bookings to prevent confusion and double bookings.
