How to find and undelete a document in Bookem

If you've accidentally deleted a document, don’t worry - Bookem makes it easy to recover it. You can undelete documents either from a client’s profile or from the Documents section in the main menu. Here’s how to do it.

Undelete a document from a client profile

If you know which client the document was linked to, the quickest way is to restore it directly from their profile.

  • Go to Clients from the main menu and open the relevant client profile

  • Click on the Documents tab on the top right of the profile

  • Tick the Show deleted documents checkbox to display deleted items

  • Find the document you want to restore and click Undelete

  • Save the document to restore it to active status

This view shows you all documents linked to that specific client, including any that have been deleted.

Undelete a document from the Documents section

If you’re not sure which client a document was connected to, you can search for it across all documents.

  • Go to Documents from the main menu

  • Click on the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top right corner

  • Toggle Show deleted to ON

  • Use the search bar or filters to help locate the deleted document

  • You can filter by last modified date, created by, or updated by to narrow down your search

  • Open the document and scroll to the bottom

  • Click Undelete, then save the document

This method is useful if you need to search by title, date, or author.

That’s it - your document is now restored

Once undeleted, the document will reappear in both the Documents section and any relevant client profiles. You can now edit, share or download it as needed.
